Programs

JIM STIGALL is a freelance storyteller and inspirational speaker. He is a member of Rivers and Prairies Storyweavers, and an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church.  Dr. Stigall was a state liaison and fomer member of the National Storytelling Network
     Jim has been a featured and regional teller at several storytelling festivals and celebrations in Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas.  He is a frequent teller in the Ottawa, West Franklin, and Marais de Cygnes Schools, a scheduled teller for Vintage Park and Ottawa Retirement Village, and volunteers his storytelling bi-monthly at Ottawa Headstart.
Dr. Stigall is an officer in Rivers and Prairies Storyweavers organization.
Jim was chosen as a Regional Teller for Kansas City’s illustrious “Telebration” at Maple Wood Community College.
     Dr. Stigall story chest is deep and wide, and his stories include topics for all ages and interests.  Below are a few of his favorite programs, but if you have a theme or special event he can and will create a program just for you.

PROGRAMS:  With a Splash …

PUDDLE-RAIN … splashing for joy in yellow rubber boots:
                              Stories for Young Listeners Preschool to first grade
This program is especially for children who may be hearing the fairytales,
fables, and folklore for the first time.  
 
KANSAS THUNDERSTORMS … splashing through our Kansas landscape
   This program center on stories about Kansas.  Legends and nature stories, tales of truth and inspiration, remanufactured fairy tales, and Kansas History.

IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT … a splIsh of this … and a splash of that … and a couple of scary stories
   3rd grade and older … Bones that dance, Skin walkers under your window, the Kansas Witch Woman … Conjurin’ Annie and her bloody pig … and many, many, more 

DEEP WATER …  Diving into the darkness … stories about conflict
   The Brothers Grimm’s Iron Hans, Jorinda and Jorindel, Hansel and Gretel … Stories like The Enchanted Kettle, the Unhappy Village, and The Burning of the Dwarf Trees and … more recently Neil Gaiman’s Coraline and The Graveyard Book, invite us to swim in dark water.

Age Suitability: Preschool to seniors

Program Length: 20 to 50 minutes, depending on the age of audience;
workshops: 2 to 4 hours.
Fee: $50.00 for one 20 to 30-minute program; $75.00 for 40 to 50-minute programs;
$200 for a half day (3 to 4 programs).

Workshops $200 to $300.
also …Travel expenses … and lodging when required.
